I don't know why or how to switch between the two. If I did know I would probably give 1.0 a try and see why it's so popular |

| posted 02-27-11 02:15 AM CT (US) 3 / 4 The only patch I know that allows you to switch versions is the 1.0e patch (1.0e/1.0c). I've heard of people duplicating the install and only patching (1.0c) one of them. Is this what you're thinking of? |

It is pretty much done (all features are tested and working), I just need to polish it here and there, and then I`ll release version 1.0 (in a few days, I hope, as I`m a bit busy lately). Either wait for it, or check this version 1.0 launcher, or check this topic on MFO (you only need to do 1.0 related part). | posted 08-13-11 08:23 PM CT (US) Hi! Patches and I just do not get along for some reason so when I download them I always keep my fingers crossed. It wouldn't be the first time that a perfectly fine working game or other piece of software stops functioning after an attempt to 'fix' issues. Having that said... ...after installing patch 1.0c all of a sudden the game cannot find the cd-rom anymore. It's the AoE collector's edition, installed from it are AoE II AOK and the Conquerors and the only patch installed is the 1.0c for the Conquerors. Is anyone able to help me out? PS Being a forum vet... before someone starts to burn me: yes, I googled up the problem without any result and no, I was not able to find the answer on this website (kind of sad to write this, but I know that there are people out there who rather invest 5 minutes in insulting someone('s intelligence) with an honest question than invest 1 minute in looking up a useful link and actually helping somebody out) | |

It doesn't work for me, unfortunately. I can always decide to uninstall the game and forget about the entire patch, but..*grunt*...why why why?? :P Thanks again! _____________________________ SOLUTION!! Yes!! | posted 08-20-11 03:52 PM CT (US) 7 / 7 My collector's edition did not come with Patch 1.0c installed, so I had to install it separately. Anyway, I had this same issue with my version; whenever I click the shortcut, or directly on the .exe to start up the program, I get the error. However, when I put in the disc and use the autorun, the game will work just fine. :| |
